And we’re just getting started.
Together, we’re building homes, and we’re building hope, creating financial equity, and revitalizing neighborhoods.

Creating equity in housing
RNHS serves as property managers and landlords, maintaining a growing portfolio of rental units in Richmond and Oakland to ensure long-term housing stability for those most in need.
As infill and small site developers, we acquire and rehabilitate properties to make homeownership accessible for first-time buyers, especially those historically excluded from ownership opportunities.
We are also a HUD-approved housing counseling agency, offering a wide range of programs that help residents:
Find their pathway to homeownership
Save their homes during financial crises
Build financial resilience and stewardship
RNHS leads strong advocacy efforts through the Community Reinvestment Act (CRA), holding financial institutions accountable to the communities they serve. We sit on multiple coalitions to ensure that community voices are heard and represented in housing policy and practice.
Stronger together
Founded in 1981 by low-income residents of the East Bay, Richmond Neighborhood Housing Services (RNHS) was created to confront systemic segregation, redlining, disinvestment, and neighborhood blight.
We are proud to continue their legacy.
What began as a grassroots movement has grown into a trusted community anchor, providing real solutions and hope for families across Richmond and Oakland.
We’re glad you’re here.
