Kareen Turner, MPH, RD

Biography

Kareen Turner is a mission-driven healthcare executive and equity advocate with over 15 years of experience leading operations, patient experience, and culture change initiatives in both hospital and community-based settings. She currently serves as Area Experience Leader at Kaiser Permanente Richmond, where she partners with senior leaders to transform care environments through strategic planning, human-centered design, and performance improvement.

Canadian-born, Kareen has spent the past two decades in the U.S., and the last three years in the East Bay, where she and her family now call home. Her lived experience informs her commitment to community empowerment, racial justice, and affordable housing.

Kareen previously served on the board of El Lemuel, a Toronto-based housing nonprofit supporting vulnerable populations through affordable and transitional housing programs. She brings to RNHS a unique combination of operational expertise, heart-centered leadership, and deep respect for the grassroots legacy of Richmond.

Kareen holds a Master of Public Health from Loma Linda University and is a certified Clinical Registered Dietitian. Outside of work, she enjoys exploring the beauty of the East Bay with her husband and two daughters—often with a slice of pizza in one hand and a puzzle piece in the other.
