Sue is National Director of Housing Loan Programs at Nonprofit Finance Fund, a nonprofit lender that supports mission-driven organizations with capital and consulting. Sue leads NFF’s lending in support of affordable, supportive, and workforce housing, working throughout NFF’s footprint and across multidisciplinary teams. She builds and broadens external relationships with clients and lending partners and supports efforts to raise capital for NFF’s housing sector lending. Working with NFF’s financing team, Sue is leading the effort to create customized loan products, lending policies, and guidelines for this expanding sector.

Sue came to NFF from Mission First Housing Group, a large nonprofit affordable housing developer in the mid-Atlantic region. At NFF, Sue led all aspects of Mission First’s real estate development activities in the PA/NJ region, coordinating the activities of internal and external members of the development team to ensure projects moved through predevelopment and development to completion according to plan. Sue and her project management team determined the feasibility of new opportunities; obtained project approvals; led design and construction teams including architects, engineers, and general contractors; and identified, competed for, negotiated, and closed on public and private sector resources. During her tenure, Sue’s team completed nine projects valued at $160 million, creating or preserving more than 400 affordable homes and apartments and generating nearly $13 million in developer fees.

Prior to joining Mission First, Sue worked at an affordable housing development consulting firm where she supported a broad range of nonprofit and for-profit clients to conceptualize and implement affordable housing projects from start to finish. Sue also worked at a leading community development financial institution, where she managed the affordable housing financing group, oversaw technical assistance and consulting activities, and served as a housing lender.

Sue was a founding member of Women in Housing Finance-Pennsylvania, treasurer of the Building Industry Association of Philadelphia, and a board member of the Pennsylvania Developers Council. Sue is a graduate of the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania.
