Kyle Rawlins

Kyle Rawlins is a dedicated figure in the architecture, engineering, construction, and real estate industry, co-founding BIG Oakland, a coworking space aimed at innovating within these sectors. His contributions have been recognized by the San Francisco Business Times’ Upstart 50, and he plays a pivotal role in addressing social issues through his co-founding of Designing Justice + Designing Spaces (DJDS), an organization dedicated to combating the root causes of mass incarceration. With over two decades of experience in real estate across the Americas, Rawlins has a proven track record in analyzing, financing, designing, developing, constructing, and managing significant projects. His commitment to community development is further evidenced through his work with nonprofit organizations such as Allied Media Projects, Ella Baker Center, and Bayview Hunters Point Foundation, focusing on creating community facilities that support direct services.

In addition to his entrepreneurial endeavors, Rawlins is an educator, joining the University of California, Berkeley as a guest lecturer to teach equitable and inclusive development within the Master of Real Estate Development + Design program. His educational background, with a BS in Architecture from the University of Virginia and an MBA from Harvard Business School, alongside his recognition as an Echoing Green Fellow, underscores his expertise and dedication to fostering social justice and community benefit through real estate development.
