Welcome to Richmond Neighborhood Housing Services

Since 1981, Richmond Neighborhood Housing Services, Inc. has worked to strengthen low-income families and neighborhoods through the promotion of affordable housing by providing affordable rentals to families and financial literacy. Founded by a dedicated group of low-income Richmond residents, RNHS was established to reverse the adverse effects of systemic segregation, redlining, disinvestment, and blight. Today, RNHS has grown to serve the needs of over 7,500 families across the East Bay. RNHS continues to work for a more just and equitable society. RNHS is a HUD-approved Housing Counseling agency. For more than 35 years, RNHS has been proud to serve the needs of hundreds of families across East Bay. Let us serve you! To obtain more information about our programs, contact us today!

Homeownership

We promote and advocate for homeownership for underrepresented and underserved communities within our service area. We offer a simple process to put you in the Driver’s seat of home ownership, so that you can start building assets for you and your family.

Financial Literacy

Our Financial Counseling programs are designed to support and assist individuals in understanding and mastering the “basic” financial habits of budgeting, managing credit, and homeownership. We serve residents through education programs that include financial literacy, home loan programs, foreclosure prevention, and affordable rental counseling.

Affordable Housing

The cornerstone of our mission is to ensure that East Bay and County residents (specifically Richmond, El Cerrito, San Pablo and Pinole) have access to affordable housing and rents. We developed, acquired and/or rehabilitated over 400 single family homes to either sell, or manage as affordable homes to purchase or rent for low- income families.
